i really want to get a male midas and i was wondering what would be the minimum tank size i was thinking something like a 75 or 90. also id like some info on them anything you think i should know.

I would say for a single male youd need something around 75 gallons. They are very owner responsive and they exhibit very interesting behaviours. They thoroughly enjoy live or frozen foods, but be careful they are easily hooked on them and wont take pellets(assuming your gonna feed pellets.) Good luck!

I agree, I had a male flowerhorn in a 75, he was in fish jail for killing several flowerhorns. He was in there for over a year by himself and was fine, and he was about 13 in.

yea 75.....and have some good filters on it.over filtration helps influence color

Good luck with your plans, and when you set up your tank post some pics i'm dying to see it. What do you plan on using for filtration?

Glad this topic has come up ,I've been toying with the idea of moving our 10" RD upstairs and putting him in the 55 we have in our living room . My only reasoning is that his personality is the best of any fish we have ever had (constently attacks anyone near the tank) and we spend most of our time in the living room and he would be lots of fun to watch. Would it be possible to put him in the 55 or should I just leave him in his 90 ?
