For an adult nurse, I'd go bigger than 20'x40' if going rectangle and something 40' across if going round. Even though they are a 'carpet shark', they would need something where they can get up and move like an OVR of similar size. I'd also go at least 5' deep for them...more if possible.

I would note that those are for an adult and Maybe bump up the width 5- 10 feet( see what matt thinks). From the activity levels I have seen from my young nurse, state that Kens formula works out pretty well for young nurses. Then hopefully Matt could give us and idea of what size/age the nurses start to need a little more swimming room. Then I think your all set on Nurse sharks.
Okay - So Matt, your suggesting that maybe the figures used for Swimming-non ORV for Adult Nurse Sharks. Since adult Comon Nurses are roughly the same size as adult Lemons - makes sense.
A 40' round pool for a 10 ft adult Nurse Shark - would be roughly equal to a oval pond which is 55ft long x 25 ft wide. Or basically a footprint of 1,200-1,300 sq.ft. with a5 ft water depth, your looking at a volume of about 45,000-50,000 gallons.
