Tank size

@Z... 400 gallons for one silver? that's a bit excessive, I think 200g for one is a fair estimate I dont nee many getting longer than 28" in the hobby so a 7x2 tank would be the minimum. HOWEVER, @OP you're ganna need 400-500g for all of those together

Speaking from actual experience, a 28" silver in a 7x2' tank is not suitable. Minimum at least 3x the length and 1x the width. You dont see many getting longer then 28"? Why, is it just cause you dont look?

Hardly surprising when they're kept in 200g tanks!:cry:

As i stated I'm prepared to meet the demsnds of these fish. I doubt three months in this aquarium could be bad for these fish.

well, i don't know about silver, but if remember correctly,my RTG aro grow from the size of your aro into something around 28 cm in 3-4 months.IMO,since silver aro usually grow longer than asian aro, they may grow faster too,so you should prepare bigger tank ASAP.about aggresion, they getting more aggressive as they get older.but my 35 cm aro never bother anything in my tank though, even my 5 cm bristlenose plec

Unspoken rule is only buy the fish that can live in your tank comfortably forever.

Only problem with that is it is open to peoples interpretation of "comfortably"...

True. Instead of saying minimum tank size I suggest if someone is going to keep monster fish "Reccomended tank size" would be better.

it kills me that the OP asks for advice, and then totally disregards it because it isn't what he wants to hear. ridiculous.

One of my silvers just hit around 18 inch and is 11 months old that's in my 240 gal which is getting small....silver shouldn't go in anything less then 150 gal at 6 inch... your just gonna stunt there growth
