Most cichlids are fairly aggressive fish. However, I've talked to a bunch of people who keep severum with mild mannered fish without a problem. I'm trying one in with my gar- I have a small Florida/spotted gar in with a gold severum smaller than a 50 cent piece, and the severum could care less about the gar. MY severum is actually the mildest mannered fish in my tank (asides from maybe the BGK- he's timid). He's very peaceful, and I haven't seen him go after anyone at all. Now, this could change when he gets larger, and if he decides to start picking on my gar, I'll have to move him out, but I haven't seen even a hint of a problem yet.
