That 18ft tank in the ortho. office is a badass tank. I wonder how much they charge for something like that? My guess is 25-30k

I got a question. They put these tanks together an just add the fish in very fast. Do salt water filter not need to cycle? How does that work? I always wonder that every time I watch this show

Did u not see the truckload of sea water they put in the ortho shark tank??!!!!
So they set up nice tank with nice fish and if properly maintain cleaned and wc they should live imo. I mean their job is to build custom tanks for fishkeepers who should know enough to keep their own fish alive!
the fish died 2 months later and its atms fault??! lol
Id love one of their tanks - the fake coral of course and im not saying their masters or sw and fw fish by any means but they do build crazy awesome tanks!

The first time I saw this show I was screaming to my wife about how grossly overstocked they had the tanks and how they didn't cycle the tanks. big tall tanks with little tiny sumps, no/ little gas exchange it would seem.

wow that show sucks.
"If the sharks get too big where they cant move just give us a call and we will come give them a bigger home"
It was hard enough moving them the first time and if there 3 ft bigger how do they plan to move them?
Read my original post

Dead within 2 days (you must be a math wiz huh, dont know how 48 hours equates into 2 months in your mind), filter never conditioned with a bio load, the nurse shark ate most of the dieing fish, funny enough in the show they were so concerned about the sharks during transport stateing how they need to match the water and ph. Soley so they can drop them in at the doctors office without any acclimation to the new tank...but they got there film for the show. Not to mention it was winter here in new york, your right they did fill the tank with a truck of water, freezing cold water. Took so long box by box they threw all the fish in shot the scene and ran off.
A nice tank with fish would be great properly maintained and cleaned. If it was set up correctly and ready for the fish prior to adding them. This tank and its stock never had a chance period, the fish didnt last long enough for maintenance. I dont think this is a lol situation.
There job is to build a custom "setups" not just tanks.
F1vet you should read posts carfully before making silly comments......no offense to you.
It would appear we have people that know what they are seeing here, take notes f1 vet maybe you can learn something.
