TANKED on Animal Planet

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the show will not last. the only people who are going to watch it is people like us fishkeepers and theres not enough out there to keep the show alive. they need great cast to make the show happen. i dont like motorcycles but i watched american chopper because i liked senior pauly and vinny. they made the show happen. these 2 guys on tanked act like a couple stooges. you can just tell the one is a spit talker. dont ya hate those people. after a short conversation its like your face has been spit on your t-shirt is half drenched. ya know what im sayin

Put that section in the water with tank lighting and it looks 100% real. Granted, there are some cheesy fake corals out there. I haven't seen ATM make any.

There's what actually works in saltwater and what hobbiest tell you that you NEED to have to work. Two very different things. The term "live rock" is just surface area for bacteria... same as in freshwater tanks. The reason most marine keepers swear by it is b/c they don't have enough mechanical filtration. If you get the crap out of the water prior to it break down as part of the nitrogen cycle, you don't need massive amounts of aerobic bacteria to convert the ammonia into nitrate/nitrite. Marine LSS need to be a few steps higher than fresh due to the way marine fish keep themselves in check with salt levels in the tank... higher waste output.

Thanks for answering my question. I have been thinking about converting one of my tanks over to salt but wanted to hear from an expert what is required or not. I have a good LFS with prety good prices so I will most likely be doing a FOWLR tank.

I too am curious if that redneck guy really lives in a trailer by their location. I mean the guy has a good job and lives in Vegas, where you can't tell me there isnt a house he can't afford. I should make a run over there just to verify.

Their website is incredible! The work they do is amazing. I wish I could get the show, but my channel provider doesn't carry it! As far as reality tv goes, as long as you take it for what it is, i find it highly enjoyable in its own way.

I cant seem to find this programme on animal planet..... i live in england, is that the problem?

I watched it online, www.letmewatchthis.ch

I really don't like the wild tanks they've made on the show, looks horrid, a TV in an aquarium? Really? And the telephone booth is so overstocked.

This is a great show!! I really liked the round stingrey tank and the mobster museum tank with the t.v's in the tank! I think it is great that there is finally a show that Aquarium enthusiasts will really enjoy. I guess they stick with salt water because it is more expensive and lucrative for them. I guess the customers in Vegas spend big bucks on lavish fish tanks that they pay to have someone maintain.
