I kept an oscar with my bichir happily and there was a clown knife also but it got too big so i took it out to a bigger tank

now i will reiterate. mollys, guppys, swords and platies are all brackish. ready... its called ACCLIMATION! yay. you could very easily do monos in fresh. its how you go about getting them in fresh water. i have 2 monos in the 180 reef at my work with a ph of 8.0 and a salinity of 1.027 and 2 in a discus system with a ph of 6.4. they are very versitile fish. like i said it all dependes how you do it, i would drip them in and add aquarium salt to compensate for the lack of ph at least the salinity will be there.krzr3000;1125941; said:
