What r some cool fish i can keep with my 2 tiger oscars in a 175 gallon. I want somethin ancient mayb im not sure. If i dont find anythin i like ill probly do 6 silver dollars. What is anyones idea's. Ill take any idea's. They gotta be semi cheap too(15 no job durin the winter....)I will await all ur ideas.

I think the school of silver dollars would add a lot of movement to your tank. That could be nice or it could be a pain if the SD's are dashing around and not schooling well.

Have you ever considered a large cat? Maybe a Lima Shovelnose? Or a Large Pleco?
I recently added a Marble Sailfin Pleco to my tank. It is very common but he has a really nice pattern and kind of has that "ancient" look about him. Kind of shark like when he swims.

Keep us posted with what you end up adding.

Well i want somethin ancient or to make it look cool. It will be in my basement thats like a hang out area. So i want it to draw peoples attention. And also wld it be a good idea to breed meal worms to help add more nutrition to the oscars diets. I just got them there like 6" each and i feed them carnivore pellets. I like the silver dollars but i dont want them to not be a good school. I like the idea of a cat or pleco. Ill make a decision after i see some other posts too.

P.S. It is the biggest tank i can get so it has to live with them for life....

i have to small tigers in a 130 gallon, i like the red tail cat, there is some great videos on youtube of some monsters.

I know the feeling!

I just got my 120g - this was the largest tank I could get for my location and the first and last monster tank my wife would let me get.

So far I have my Midas and my Pleco who will go in there. I too am looking at adding a school of SD's. But the problem is I want a couple more fish and am not sure exactly what to add. Some others that are of interest to me are a convict, grammode, salvini, or green terror. But if any of these guys dont work out, I wont have a place to put them and they will just end up back at the store.

Just do your research and take your fishes personality into consideration before adding anything else.

I like the lima cat because they r rlly good with oscars i read. And i think they will eat meal worms and chiclid pellets too. But they wld take alot of meal worms to feed. But good thing each meal worm has 500-1000 eggs. Woo! I wont feed him meal worms alone too ill also feed him ciclid pellets.

i was going to say lima before i read everyone posting this so i would definatly go with a lima

I'd look into some of the Synodontis cats. They look pretty prehistoric and are hardy and good active tankmates for Oscars. I'll always like how a couple of Oscars and a Royal Plec look together, the L191 Royals are green & black striped and the L190 Royals are gray & black striped. Both have nice wide heads and look real nice. Not sure how cheap they'd be though.....forgot about that.

I think ill do the lima!!! Wht is good food for them? I wld do the lima and pictus but im prtty sure the lima catfish will eat the pictus.... Ill keep u guys updated i found a 175 imma call soon i gotta trade my 100 for it.
