I have a green terror in a 55 gallon by himself. What would make suitable tankmates for him? I bought some tinfoil barbs, which he doesn't seem to mind. But I think I'll take them back, since they probably will outgrow the tank. Any ideas for mates for a GT?

Jack Dempsey / Servrum / Silver Dollars / Synodontis / Blood Parrot Any of these should get along with it and not overcrowd the tank for a year or so.

It will be a pretty-permanent home, and I was worried about a JD getting aggressive as it got bigger. Would they fight with each other? Any experience with this combo?

The LFS I prefer has some DATs, but how long will it take for them to outgrow that tank? DATs grow pretty slow, right? If we move in a year or two, I might get a LARGE tank (~100gallons+) so I can keep an oscar. Would the DAT, at that point, be overly aggressive towards the oscar?

alright, I LOVE datnoids but was afraid to get one because of size. If they grow pretty slow, will one get along with the terror for a year or two? Or do I need some target/dither fish in there?

one of my green terrors gets along with my frontosa and convict and the other green terror also gets along with another convict.

I wouldn't put any other cichlids in with it, even at a smaller size. I would do some rainbows for dithers and a bushy nose pleco.

id keeps like 3 male cons NO FEMALES 1 male JD NO FEMALEs and get some target dithers

No, wrong answer. That will overcrowd the tank.

I'd go with something smallish like a firemouth or a con. My experience with GTs is that they are very aggressive, so I'd look into something that could hold its own, such as a con.
