i used to keep mine in a 55gal with 2 oscars, 1 jack dempseys, 6 silver dollars, 2 clown loaches, 2 silver sharks, 1 sailfin pleco,2 bristlenose plecos and a chinese algae eater. i know way overstocked but moved them all into my 150gal. they were fine in the 55 n for bout a month in the 150 then the gt went crazy n beat up on the 2 oscars n the jd. he quieten down a lil bit now
my GT are with a JD and blood parrots they all seem to co-exist very well, i had a convict in there but had to remove him because he was destroying everyone.
If its a pretty permanent home for it, then i wouldnt add anything that could get big. I personally think that if its for life, a 55 is pretty small. I definitely wouldnt add any other cichlids or datnoids.
I would add a few Yoyo loaches and get rid of the tinfoils.
Your green terror full grown would be fine by himself. The tank might be to small to put any other fish in there unless your upgrading in the future. Possibly a 2nd green terror of opposite sex.
I have an agressive firemouth in a 150 gallon, the problem is I have two florida gar in there and clown knife with two 5 inch peacock bass I have a friend who has a gt which is pretty aggressive I wanted to add him to the tank but idk if he would attack the gar or peacocks if so I was not going to get him
Input would be great thanks
i would just put some dithers with him..... i grew mine out with a jd,firemouth it was a horrible idea i ended up losing the firemouth due to aggresion and had to rehome the jd...... you should also start thinking about upgrading.. a 55 is too small for a gt....
