Tankmates for a gt, jd, & a firemouth?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
red texas will probably kill your other boys based on what ive heard. for a gt to have a 100 gallon tank alone seems a bit extreme, they dont get that large or aggro. if you get a 200 gallon tank i would say add whatever common cichlids you want. i would say ditch the firemouth and get pairs of whichever you decide to keep

not only agression levels but filteration on the tank plays a role in my opinion. I am running a FX5 on my 75 right now but my fish are still fairly small and when they get alittle bigger i am gonna move a few fish to another tank.

You should get a Dovii that would be great to add to the tank, No No just kidding bad idea:screwy:. What I would do is either get a Tex, GT, Devil but I would kinda pass on the Devil cause they grow very fast and would take out the whole tank. But a GT would be cool I have one that is now housed in a 180gallon and does really well with my Fire mouths and JD'S. Also props to you on running a FX5 great filtration.

It's kinda sad that some people here that suggests to giving fish a better home gets the " :screwy: ". And it's even sadder that your post gives the message that you are encouraging people that overstocking is good.
They might get along great, but them being happy is a totally different thing. Some inmates in prisons get along great but that doesn't mean they like it there.
How do you figure overstocking is a bad thing?

a jack dempsey shouldnt be a problem they usally hide in a cave and are quite shy swimming unless the lights are on mine attacks any1 that enters its cave but he never ever goes to the other side of the tank just swims and hides where its cave is, a 75 is fine for those fish u cud add convicts or jewels but watch it jewels are super aaggressive fishes regardless of the other fishes size
