Alright. My fish were in good health and the owner is a very nice guy. They were out of 1.5in to 3 in redfins when i ordered, so he gave me the bigger size redfins for the same price. I highly recommend them.

I hear he's a real nice guy as well.

I think I'm going to try and catch one of those grass pickerels from that one pond instead of ordering a redfin to save some money. Plus I can get some of what look like warmouth sunfish. If I can catch any.:)

Get some small minnows, small hooks and really light line and with some luck you'll be able to catch them. Be preparted to be frustrated if you do it this way. If you are able to net them, a seine net works best, but I've dipnetted for them as well.

Just throw a 4 dollar pike spinner out there and you'll catch them all day like crazy. Reel it quickly and they go ape *****. Trust me.....I am the foremost expert. :headbang2

So the redfin is in a 150g, that would be 24" wide, you could go with a young highfin carpsucker, they grow fairly slowly, mooneyes, lake chubsuckers, spotted suckers, smallfin redhorse, and peamouths would all probably work with an adult redfin.
I tried not to list ones that were already listed.

You can't really have much as tankmates with pickerel. Either it is too big and will pick on it or it is too small and it will eat it... I have not had good luck with any kind of tankmates with my pickerels. Although some large o-spots or dollars MIGHT work.

There is no redfin in this tank, but there is a large grass pickerel. Not shown. I have no compatability issues. This is a 240. Species: Sauger, 2 Fla. gar, Longnose gar, Black bullhead, Brown bullhead, Green sunfish, Longear sunfish, Yellow perch, 2 Rockbass, Grass pickerel, Black crappie. Think that is all.
These fish have been in this tank for over a year, and no aggression.
