Tankmates for Bichir

How long have you had them and what size were they when you got them?
 
I hope you upgrade your tank size soon. Bichirs need lots of room to be able to skip along the top of the water. Get as big as you can afford. I have 3 bichirs in a 140 gallon. They like to stack on top of each other. The pleco they live with is their biggest competitor. And I don't recommend getting any small fish. Even if it seems too big for their mouth. Chances are it is not.

They'd stack on top of each other in a much larger tank anyway, it's just what they do, to the op, I'd upgrade to at least a 75 preferably something around 100. As for tank mates, -after- you get a larger tank, you could do something like fire mouths or for other bottom dwellers you could do a synodontis cat or something of the like. I would avoid plecos though.
