Tankmates for Oscars

Hi all, I am currently setting up a Juwel Rio 400 (400l/100 UK gal) and have ordered 2 Tiger Oscars from my LFS.

I also have a smaller 4 ft tank with
2 x Silver dollars 5-6 inches
3 x spotted Silver Dollars 3-4 inches
1 x Pictus catfish 5-6 inch
1 x Firemouth 3-4 inch

And I have just swapped my little Gold Nugget for a 7 inch comon Sailfin Plec (i'll miss that little guy).

Which of these will I be able to stock in the tank with 2 baby Oscars? as my woman wont let me keep both tanks.

I'm worried the Pictus may get stuck in the Oscars throat with its spines when they are near fully grown, is this common?

I have 6 RH Silver Dollars in my Oscar tank right now and they work fine. He will ocassionaly give chace but as said above ^^^^ there to fast so he gives up, most of the time though he dosent pay any attention to them. I would throw the SD's in.

I'm hoping that I can avoid that by putting the Oscars in as juvies so they get used to the other fish but i'll be keeping a close eye on them when they become big enough to pose a threat and might be looking to rehome some fish if it comes to it.

Usually and I stress usually because not always, you wont have anything to worry about until the 6-9 inch mark.

Thanks, as soon as they reach the size of whatever else is in the tank i'll be watching them like a hawk!

What about the Firemouth and Pictus Cat?

I'm sure the Pictus and 2 Silver Dollars wiil do just fine. But don't over stock it.

You should be good with all of them. Ive never had a problem with Oscars eating my pictus cats although, I dont have very good luck with pictus cats anyway so I dont keep them anymore.
