You will be way over stoked for your tank. I would go with the two O's, one JD and your SD's(might even cut that down to three). You will still be at max capacity so you will have to be good about your water changes. A few things to keep in mind as well; Make sure your O's are quite a bit bigger than your JD. JD's are very aggressive and will be relentless about picking on your O's. I had a JD that was the same size as my Oscar and I had to remove hime because he had shunned my Oscar to one corner of the tank and wouldn't let him eat. You will also want to keep an eye on your Oscars because some just won't tolerate another O in their tank. You might be ok though with the SD's and the JD to draw attention away.

just be careful cause Os grow much faster than JD's so you might end up just giving your O a expensive snack lol

You are fine with the JD's and the oscars.

The JD's grow pretty fast as well till about 5" and by then they aren't snack size.

I had 5 oscars all were 10" in a 90g tank with a 8" JD, 5" green sevrum, 5" firemouth, 10" common pleco and 2 HOB marineland 400"s. I eventually moved them into a 120g with 3 marineland 400's but along with a 2' channel cat, 2 12" common plecos, 2 7" jags and 2 12" plus pacu's.

By the time they hit 12-13" I had a breeding pair and had to get rid of the pair and all the oscars but one.

Eventually the jags mated and the male killed the female.

When I started getting rid of the big guys I had a 22" pacu, 14" oscar, 17" jag and 2 17" plecos.

Just invest in a nice test kit and keep the parameters at a good level. If it seems like too much to keep them at an acceptable range start getting rid of fish or get better filtration. Which will happen as they get bigger.

As for the compatability with your stock you are good with what you have. Don't know anything about pictus cats.

Don't feed live food cause you will get a totally different temperment with the oscars as opposed to feeding them pellets.

Flame on.

Thanks for the input everyone, I will probably let one of the Oscars go when it is clear which one is the dominant fish, I already have an idea because on is chomping down the floating sticks for fun and the other just seems to nibble at flake food.

The plec just seems to crap for the sake of it, i'm not really that attached to him because recently got him in a swap with my small Gold Nugget as I wanted something more Oscar proof. I could let him go and that would be a big strain off the tank/filtration when they are all bigger but is there anything else I could add as a scavenger/cleaner?

I'd say the Blue Acara seems more like a Green Terror but I might be wrong. You'll have to quit on some fish as they grow up. I guess that'll be your call. Now you can manage them ... being juveniles. Cheers. :)

I thought it looked more like a GT myself but he was sold to me as a Blue Acara, is there much difference? I expect the GT will be more agressive, he's already chasing the Oscars and JD off when he sees them and he's roughly the same size as the JD (inch and a half-two inches) and about half an inch bigger than the Oscars.

I have no idea why I was saying Blue Acara! I meant Yellow Saum, they were labelled as Yellow Saums in the LFS. What's the difference between the GT and Yellow Saum?

Anyway I have decided to go for an FX5 for the filtration, anyone have any Idea what kind of media I will need for my set up?
