Thanks SPain, my LMB is the same size as urs but my blue gills bigger. Are u spanish?

Yes I was born in Galicia,Spain and then came to the United States when I was 5 years old. But I go back and forth every summer.

I love North American Native fish! They are like the best fish to keep IMO.

I've pretty much grown to love my fish and in doing so sometimes I end up broke because of it. Ultimately in the end, they are like our children and they depend on us to make them happy. At some point in the future I will have to figure out a way to upgrade. The only thing that sucks about upgrading is swapping one for the other. Which is pretty much impossible since I would have to have the bigger tank first in order to cycle it and transfer them over and then find a way to get rid of my 75 Gallon tank which i have now.

Well whatever I'll figure it out when the time comes. Most people said that I would have a 3 foot Channel Cat and a 2 foot Largemouth Bass 7 months ago when I first got them and it hasn't happened yet. So I tend to just laugh when people tell me that my tank is "Overcrowded"

Back on topic, I feel that eventually the red devil midas will need to be housed alone. In something like a 75 gallon. I never tried mixing them because my red devil will attack me when I go to clean the tank. I couldn't imagin sticking a bluegill in with him! You might be ok for a little while but the red devil will grow faster than the gill and I think it will eventually end up killing him. The devil should give you a heads up beforehand. You should start to see constant chasing and nipping and the gill will be begging you to get him out of there.

Hey Michael, you got any pics of the beasties???

they seem to have drawn a line in the tank ... and the RD wants more but is quikly backed off by the BG ..... even when feeding the line exist ,and niether will cross .... ive never kept a BG ....and find it interesting how they puff thier gills to make themselfs seem bigger than they actually are ... its turning out to be a very interestng fish with more balls than i expected ..... they are pretty close in length with the RD being a bit larger from top to bottom ........... im an avid bassfisherman and love to fish .... have caught hundreds of BG'S ......never gave them a second thought ... but i think im gaining more respect for them after keeping ..... he seems to be feerless thus far

ya, BGL can be pretty nasty as with most Centrarchids. they probably won't stand up to a large RD in the long run, though, but maybe.
