I could be mixed up but doesnt the spot on the dorsal usually point towards a Bluegill. It does look like a green sunfish though. I know that they stock hybrids all over the place. Looks like it could be a mix. That would also account for the deep body...it's fat, but is it that fat?

i think the "fat pic" was taken soon after eating (loves night crawlers) .....this pic should give you a better look ....
yup that thing would do well with a red devil it can fend for itsself, i fish for them all the time, man using shads raps for bass every other cast is a greensunfish not much bigger than the plug.
