  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will soon learn if Jardinis are mean or not, as Ill have a Green Pearl color JARDINI on Thursday.

I started off with 8 4 inch Jardini now I have 7 because one had a bulging eye and the ate his eyeball, then the killed him. So far so good, they are getting along pretty good for now!!!

7 four inch jardinis in what size tank? Of course they would be ok since they are just juveniles. You should start selling them and just keep one. Unless you really want to learn the "your way", method.

I'll right so here's my view on it i had a jardini a couple years ago i grew him to about 18 inches in a 6'18"x24" tank and he killed a common oscar a yellow oscar a clown knife a silver arow a smaller florida gar and some kind of barracuda not sure what kind it was silver with a blue stripe on it. But on the flip side i put in a black ghost knife fish with him that was about 6 inches when my jardini was 12 inches and he never bothered it once when the ghost knife came out of the tube he lived in they swam around the tank together in a very nice and peacfull manor wish i still had the video of it it was actually quite buitifull they lived in harmony for about 5 months till my jardini out gre the tank and i had to get rid of him.
I have currently bought a 240 8'2'2 glass that i'm currently working on setting up and it's for a jardini i fell in love with them and even thow there mean son's of bitc--- they are by far one of the best fish in the world to me and worth ownen but if you all ready have a established tank with fish you love i wouldn't add one. BUt if you get a new tank and want an amazing bad ass fish buy one i mean we all love bad ass fish right look at people who own snake heads the kill everything and people still love them right any ways this is my exsperience with them i would recomend buying one if you like arow's in my opinion silver's and blacks suck don't get mad at that just my opinion.
Also in like i said my exsperinece mine liked fish that swim in a calm manner like they do he hated those oscars plashing around swimming anoying and being load that's why he killed them in my opinion go for something that swims slow and won't anoy him that's it from me enjoy you'r fish.

Sincerely

Hhmm... jus got bck from my lfs, finally he's here... my baby jardini, ive wanted one for ages. but having just read this i'm a little worried, its no probs what i have to do for him or my other fish just need some advise, he is currently tankd with 5" skrible plec, 3" albino plec, 4" anostrious, 4" flying fox and a 3" rainbowsnake head... the tank was planned to be my snakehead tank, the plecs n fox are due for relocation soon! but is it worth risking snakehead with jardini, or do i seperate them asap? if not asap how long is it a fairly safe risk for? as i said i want the best for my fish, so what ever they need... Thanks for any advise! nathan

I know everyone is gonna say not to do it... But I think that this will be fine for a while atleast... there is a goo chance that your jar could snap at about the 7-10 inch range. I have my 6.5 inch jar in a com tank with some cats pacu id shark and an Osar and even 2 blue gourami ranging from 4-9 inches the gouramis are about 2inches and everything is fine fore now... I'd say just keep an eye on everything and at the first sign of serious aggression it's time to separate so I would make sure you have at least one other tank ready or be willing to get rid of something fast... Snake heads are some rather equipped tough fish so it might just be able to deal with the jar... I only have experience with micros though and don't really have the slightest idea on a rainbows growth rate... If the sh grows faster then the jar there is a good chance it could go the other way... I've seen snake heads take down other fish and even cannibalize other sh's only slightly smaller then themselves.... best of luck in what ever you deiced to do though....
