Tanks and solar

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are people around here that run wind turbines mind you they are not as efficient as solar but have the capability to run a hole welding shop and be completely off grid (30 000 dollar touch to disconnect from grid).

My point being wind is another option if you are in an area that allows the use of wind turbine

They might not tell you the truth. Call your local fire department they will give you a straight answer.
Just thought all of you might want to know that, I am assuming that if you are going to be putting solar panels up to run your fish tanks and house that you own a little more then a 125 gallon tank

Thanks dude i have a distrust for anyone that stands to make a profit off of me anyway. Gonna follow up with some firemen that i know

Ya for sure that's the best way to get an answer. I know I would not spray water on a household outlet so I couldn't see them doing it to a house with solar panels lol.
No problem let us know what answer you get from your buddies

Just shot one of them a text....this may sound dumb but im not understanding why they couldnt put the fore out ? They will be getting wet in the rain right ? If you have an electrical fire fire dept still handles the fire

From my understanding electricity has to be shut off before the will fight the fire with water. Fire extinguisher that are designed for electrical fire have a non conductive foam or powder (can't remember which)

I think its foam and powder may be for chemical fires not sure though.

So my buddy said that it wouldnt be possible to let the home or structure just burn unless there were structural issues with entering the building but still would be faught from outside. He did say that they would have to tackle the fire differently with solar panels but no its wouldnt be left to burn. And would be treated the same as any other fire with the exception of different nozzles and equipment

Maybe diff from state to state

He is the same friend that recently had his home converted to solar.

I remember a news story, a few years back, that the FD of some small US town, stood by and watched, a resident's home burned to the ground because the resident had always refused to pay some sort of annual town fee that goes to the operational cost of their FD.

That is good to know I'm in canada so it most likely is the same in the situation of a fire. I heard different from my uncle who was going to use solar on his house mind you that was 3 years ago. He worked with a fire fighter and was told they would not fight it because there was no way to be sure the solar panels where not producing electricity.

well it sounds harsh but he kinda got what he deserved there.
