tanks in garages

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 450 gals in my attached garage and it has worked well better than having them spread through out the house. My garage is insulated and the furnace is in there to but no duct blowing heat just the furnace running keeps the temps moderate evan with it freezing out it does not go below the 60's f.During the summer i unplug all heaters from mid may til mid september and the temps go up to about 82 -84f in the heat of summer. The best part about the garage is no carpet i am a messy water changer so the fishy smelling carpet is a thing of the past:grinno: .I suggest that u make the upgrades that oddball spoke of oh and no cars in there either my garge is now called the fish room here's a pic.:headbang2

I did it and it was just fine. I didnt run a heater in the summer at all. During the winter I ran double the normal size of the heater just in case. I have to say that I was able to monitor the temps a little more than usual due to the fact that the garage was my drinking spot.

I have my 900 in the garage with no real problems. I installed a heating/cooling unit in one (pic 2) on the wall. The heat from the pumps and heaters keep it warm enough during the winter and the wall unit keeps it about 75-78 in the summer (just outside of DC). If you plan on keeping salt water I would nervous about corrosion. Good luck.
