Wish Calgary wasn't so cold all the time.

My current house, I'm renting it from a freind but may just buy it if i stay long enough, has a 2 car garage but the way its setup there is only one garage door, u use dollies to move ur project car over to the other side becuase its behind the padio. Thankfully tho I'm heavy into cars to so I've found ause for it, otherwise you would be seeing a 10ft tank on here ;)

I keep my 89 735iL (over 130in wheelbase i think, i forget) and have a foot on the rar still and have a huge cabinet at the front and about a foot or so between the cabinet and front of the car, its a long garage just too cold :(

I live in N. California and have tanks in the garage. I can tell you that managing the temperature increase during the Summer is far more challenging than cold evenings during the Winter. During Winter, as long as you have at least 5 watts/gallon of heater capacity there should be no problem. You may experience an occasional 1-2 degree drop at night, but nothing to be concerned about. Unfortunately, my garage really heats up during late Summer and that has been a problem with my Dat tank. Once the water reaches approx. 84-85, the fish start to become anoxic. If I turn off the filters to perform a water change, they really start to gasp. This year, I'm going to drape reflective material over the garage door and will be installing a chiller on that tank. Other remedies include: turning your heater temp setting down by 5 degrees, turning off the tank lights, ventilating the tank, etc.

my friend has his tank in his garage right now next to the garage door and one side of the tank the temp reads different on each side. But lately he said the temp been steady @ 84. i guess a little tip will do but oddball guy seems educated.
