I have a filter meant for a 100 gallon reef tank. Its doing a wonderful job. But its keeping my tank at a constant 83 + degrees.

i had to move the tank in april when we redid the floors, long story short i lost all my big cichlids. After recycling it and months later i finally got to restocking it. I recently added some cories, danios, and phantom tetras. Slowly but surely they have been dying off, around 1 a day. My water tests great, ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nitrate-30 (normal for my well) ph is 7.2ish. The tank is 75 gallons.

is this water just too hot for small tropical fish or am i gonna lose bigger fish too? Id really like to get this tank stocked, but not if things are gonna keep dying.
Any suggestions for fish (besides discus) that can take warmer water.

Is the tank outside?

If so the problem could be more about temperature fluctuation than it just being too hot in general. Whats the highest temp it'll get up to? And the lowest overnight temp?

Think you have some other issues besides the temp. 83 is ok for pretty much anything. What kind of filter is it (style, brand name)? Do the fish look as if they are breathing hard? If so, add an air stone.
