Sorry been very busy lately so haven't updated my SR since the first pics. I tanned him for about 3 weeks as per instructions on another forum. Tanning refers to placing a light tube below the water level so that it strikes the side of the fish's body. I used a 3' 18000K tube, starting at 2 hours per day and increasing with increments of 2 hours per day until 18 hours per day. I also decreased by the same period at the end of the "session".
Here is when I had just got him... (notice the intact fins)
Now here he is tonight. The color has improved amazingly. Notice the rims of the scales, lips and fins. The only worrying thing is the fins. That damage is the result of him getting his *** kicked for 2 days non-stop by the greenie. It was terrible to watch!
At one stage I almost took the greenie back to the LFS. Everything seems ok for now ... but if it gets too bad the SR is going into his own tank that I have planned for the future..
Enjoy!
P.s. Sorry about the filthy glass...
