jarboy - one more question...with your lights on for so long, doesnt your water turn green? do you use a uv?

No ... no green water and no UV.

This is one of the problems with tanning in general, but usually happens with a 24/7 schedule ... I guess I've been lucky so far.

Wow big improvement. And this wouldn't of happened at this rate without the lights on huh? Is it actually good for the fish (well at least no negative effects). Made any difference on the green?

I would still have happened, but I guess the lights helped. Remember ... I bought this fish last month from an LFS where it had been since early 2005 ... so it's also probably the extra swimming space and improved water parameters.

Impressive, that really lifted the color, it looks great. I'm with ya , I hate watching these fish fight, its good they are hardy and heal fast. Anyways, job well done!

Best of luck,

Thanks bro!

Yeah it's terrible ... can't watch, but can't stop myself from watching.

Strangely though the greenie was only going at it for 2 days (non-stop) ... now there seems to be some kind of (fragile) truce in place.

When are you starting your tanning?

Looks great :)

Wow ... she truely is a monster. Not even an arapaima can live with her. Maybe you should get her a nice big and handsome boyfriend and see if it calms her down... ;)

Very nice, JardiniBoy! :) Showing good results just from that single session. Color development on thin frame scale, much more intense now! Good job!
