Ok i was told and like you said it was a "teacup" stingray and ill try because it is at the pet store. also thank you just to clarify i didnt wanna cause any trouble between people on here i am sorry just asking a simple question. but would a motoro be a better choice between the two? cause if so i will do more research on the motoro. Thank you Fishman646

Defiantly do a little more research. Motoro's are possibly the easiest and hardiest ray to keep but they do get HUGE. Your current setup would only last a year or so. No matter what ray you get make sure it is eating and there is no signs of parasites. Some examples include but are not limited to red bellies with bright red veins. Broken apart white-yellow poop. FLASHING this is when the ray moves quickly as its getting spooked but nothing is spooking it. There are many more signs and when you do get a ray qurantine it with prazi PRO to treat any non wanted parasites. Also use JUNGLE pond medicated fish food as it rids tough internal parasites. Hope this helps a little!

If your hard up for a ray.... START with a motoro they are they easiest to keep. Teacup(Rticulata's) are harder to keep...70 bucks is alil high too

completely agree i haven't bought any of my fish from that store i normally go to a different one. The thing is this ray is bigger looks alot nicer but the problem is poor care leads me to deciding i dont want it. The Fish store i normally go to does not have a guarantee on the ray. the other one (with the nice ray) has the guarantee problem is ich is present in the tank and i do not know what the ray could have so i do not want to buy them from either store. hence why i said anyone know where i can get one cheaper or a different ray. but i agree i don't buy any fish from a place that you cant trust.

Thank you! yes helps alot i just have to find a place local that can get me the Ray and that i trust. but if so then i will find a motoro around here, sale price isn't what was bothering me the guarantee was thats all. Because i know these two places dont really take care of their fish all that well i dont want to be screwed out of my money on poor fish keeping from these two places. but thank you again this helps me alot

Ill be selling motoros in a few months!

if soo can you ship them?? cause i trust you from talking to you on the site lol. and yes just think of me when your selling because in that time i can do my research and get a good idea of what i need in the tank and also good care for the beautiful motoros. :)

sorry i missed most of the convo. most people have said what i was talking about doing your research as in: no such thing as a teacup, retics are actually not the best beginner ray as sometimes they are too small and wont eat. but also captive bred rays will be your best bet as in most cases they will come without parasites, and will be eating prepared food more readily.

your at a great site to find out alot keep reading as the more you know the better off you will be. dont think i was being a dick with my first post but a search of teacup or retic and you wouldve found this info out and more very quickly, and then never would have asked the question and would have been asking something else. like where is a good place to get a motoro or something.

so with that being said. clearwater guy just had a batch of captive bred motoro pups also vamptrev and florencebigfish mite still have some. check with them about getting yourself a nice motoro since they are easier to keep than a retic in most cases.

well said!

sorry i dont breed motoros any more, but motoros are deff the way to go even though they get a little bigger then retics.

i am sorry i was not trying to cause trouble just the assumption of me not knowing lol. but i agree i dont know A ton of facts about the rays but what i was told at the LFS was what i believed and being this is true i am not going there anymore lmao. but thanks for all the input and all the facts this is really going to help.
