Tegu cage building thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That'll be one happy tegu.

Thanks again for the comments you guys it is much appreciated. I still have to install the humidity system, add mulch, and get a few more stuff. "Hopefully" he will be in it sometime this week.

Well he has officially moved in :headbang2

It's not done... I still have to add more mulch, branches, etc. and I also need to install the humidity system which will come later. I will update this thread as I update the enclosure. But many pics to celebrate!

Thanks for the comments guys. He is still very wary and standoffish in his new cage. Besides feeding I am not going to interract with him for a solid week so he can grow accustomed to his enviornment.

The real question is what aren't I feeding him. So far his menu includes but is not limited too..

ground turkey, rats, chicken breast, beef liver, beef hearts, salmon, tuna, crab, shrimp, the occasional cichlid, egg, peaches, squash, chicken gizzards, chicken hearts, superwomrs, mealworms, mealworm beatles, and lamb. I am still adding more fruits and veggies to his menu.

" melamine is a no no", where did you hear this? melamine is the best thing you can use for reptile tanks. it may be alittle expensive. but you basically just screw it together and call it done, theres no priming, painting ect. it has a water proof membrane on it. so who ever said it was a "no no". is seriously mistaken. and im pretty sure you used OSB board. which will soak water up like a sponge and rot, so keep an eye on that
