I think that it is going to work great and your Tegu will absolutely love it but at the same time, it seems like an eyesore. I understand that you are not experienced with building things (and believe me neither am I) but I think that if you slow down and try and make it look nicer with another layer of paint or laminate. I just think that since it looks like you have such a nice house, you should make your Tegus house look just as nice.
I am not trying to bash you or anything and I really think that you are doing a much better job than I could and certainly much more quickly than I could. No hard feelings. Just constructive criticism.
No your totally right. Now that the cage is inside and mostly assembled I am going to really polish things off. We do have some nice beige interior paint I was going to use but we need it for the living room. the cage is in the basement and nobody comes down here so I am not too worried but I do want it too look nice. Please believe it still has some ways to go. Now that the drylock and killz is on I am not as worried about fumes so when I can I do plan to re-paint the exterior as well as do a few other things. I am also going to get caster wheels for the bottom. Will make life a bit easier. One of the reasons I left the top off. My room will be real junky for a while thoug lol.
