Tegu or Savanna Monitor

Tegu all the way! :headbang2

No im bias. They are pretty similar personality wise so you will be happy with either as long as you work with it. I love tegus. Mines has so much personality. She has fits and is always sticking her nose were it dosen't belong. She's like a little kid. but she is really sweet and will sleep in my lap while im watching tv. Ive seen savs just as tame too. The thing about tegus is it's easy to find cbb animals which makes the health and taming thing sooo much easier on you.
 
I'd go with a sav, i've got one myself but i've also worked with tegus as well. Really any of them (excluding columbian tegus as they are usually harder to tame and many remain aggressive their whole life, though some people have very pleasant columbians, most dont) make awesome pets but I have noticed that tegus tend to be lazier than the monitors
 
I'm biased towards an Argetine black and white tegu.

wait for a show and pick one out! ive always thought of red tegus as reptile fat cats as far as lazyness goes haha so perhaps a red tegu? but i love watching savs after they eat cause it looks like theyre smiling :D
