Tell me its not datnoid disease

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Forgot to add-the Thinbar appeared fine the whole time it had the lesion but the NGT eventually went off its food and died.

Thanks for your input robroy, if I don't see any changes within a few days I gonna have to go your route. I literally can't afford to lose this pulcher, if ya know what I mean.

My dat had it once and all I did was just changed the water every other day and add salt. It cleared up after I saw stringy white pus come out from two of those mysterious bumps.

Datnoid owners are just the best. Always so helpful. I just got 2 dats and hope to learn from you guys. Good luck and I hope for the best for your dat

Its bad to lose any Tiger especially a Pulcher. I know my suggestion is a last resort but it did work fine for me. Fingers crossed for you my friend and really hope this gets sorted

Ok update....

The bump in question has gone down, but now it looks like there's other bumps showing up, plus he's got some white fungus lookin' stuff on him. Does anyone know if melafix would cause that? It does seem like he's got excess slime. Either way it's not good news. Water changes again and dosed melafix. If I dont see any results by this time tomorrow I'm going to stop the melafix and just do salt.

I have a good friend who keeps many tigers. Now these bumps do occasionally appear on his STs. It's always down to when the normal water change regime is neglected, combined with the fish being exposed to high stress levels.
Good old water changes and hma seem to keep it at bay..
Te syringe method has also proven to work.

Your ST seems to be one step forward, one step back.

Have a think, have u changed ANY part of your routine maintenance
In the last few months? Is the fish a new addition? Any other new fish added recently? And bullying of this affected fish by others?

I still say high temps and loads of salt , and syringe method will be yor best best.

Melafix is pretty useless for anything exept split fins. For fungus, use pimafix.

Water quality is always pristine.....

amm - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 20
ph - 7.6

i have other tigers/fish that were in the same tank, they're all ok and doing great. This guy is a new addition though, so it may be from the stress. There was fighting between this guy and another, but nothing tigers don't usually do. I've only had him for bout 2 weeks and he still hasn't eaten. Still swimming around like normal and acting normal, no flashing or nothin'. I wish he would eat though, cause he prob needs the energy to recover.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep updating.
