tell me more about my "pink" black ghost knife

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If they are to treat it as a BGK then I'd say to expect up to 16" as BGK can reach that with ease. Very cool looking fish regardless of the size it grows though! Look forward to seeing updates of this fish!

Most South American Knife get around a foot. There are about 26 species, and I only know of like 8 of them that gets above 12" That's less than 1/3

Not disputing that. I just understood your suggestion of treating it as a BGK as suggesting it would be the same size as one also, which they get a bit bigger than 12". I suppose I misunderstood your previous post. Sorry about that.

I can see what you are talking about now. My post was sort of contradictory.

could it be a hypomelanistic (spelling??) as in hypo reduced black pigment but normal eye colouration. much like the jungles and hypo in the reptiles they still show some of the black its just reduced. this could also explain the the price because if its dominate (co or other wise) it means its passed direct to 50% of the young from a hypo to normal breeding, also means there is scope for it to produce a dominate gene or super form of this??

im just speculating here im no expert just what i know from reptile breeding years ago.

perfect was it a local shop or a chain like maidenhead?? if i wasnt in south wales it would be a nice addition as my BGK is awesome.

cool many thanks, it was after i posted i seen the date on the original post. but thanks for the reply.
