Temensis

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here is the picture of the new grow light on the tank. This light gave this tank a whole new life and look. grow lights get warm and can effect the acrylic hence why it's above the tank but also to
give the pothos proper lighting. This one light is bright enuff for this tank 6x24x30 (LxWxH). Once the temensis go into the pond it will only take 2
of these lights if not just one light. I also included a picture of the grow light i got. Can't wait to see how the temensis turn out. Not only with this lighting but also the blackwater.

How have these been working for you?

Just a update on a few things. We all know cichla go through a color morph as they grow. Until they reach their adult colors. My purpose of having blackwater biotope/grow light to
mimic the natural sun light for the temensis is to see how soon their adult colors come in but also to see how it effects their overall growth etc and if it helps with maturity. I am sure we all came across a picture of a video like i have where we're seeing 12" male temensis with humps etc in the wild.

With the biotope and lighting i also introduced new food to their diet which is 60% protein and way more healthier ingredients. They are bulking up and putting on some size. Their spangling has come out a lot more. I will update with pictures soon but wanted to give yall a small update. But we will know for sure when they are 12"-15" how all this effects them.
