temperament of the salvini cichlid?

I haven't seen these before but am quite drawn in by them was wondering how aggressive they are. thanks

Mine got aggressive when he hit about 5". When he beat up my female nic he went to the LFS.

yeah salvinis are really aggressive they just dont get as big but they can def hold their own against the big boys most of the time

Ime they're very aggressive when they find a tank mate to be a threat (other cichlids of the same size/larger/other salvini). Ignores smaller fish. Eats fish that are small enough.

I think pound for pound convicts are the only ones that rival them.

mean dudes, mine has a small territory tho... defends about 12" square, ive heard ppl saying they are gonna be reclassified 'parachromis' so the same family as dovii, jag ect.... would explain the meaness!

Because of their nasty temperment I don't even keep them. I don't think they look all that good and they hide a lot also. Not worth it imo.
