Just curious what temps other people run their tanks?? Last summer after i sold all my coral i had my chiller set so it would turn on at(hope i don't get abused by you all for this) 31.5 deg/c. All my fish including my moorish didn't have a problem with this and also many corallimorphs didn't have a problem either. Now maybe i am a bit tight because the electricity bill sky rockets when the chiller runs but are there any other corals that would survive this kind of temperature for 2-3mths????

(also before i get abused for being tight with this hobby,,,my livestock if it came down to it would definately come before my elec bill!!!)

during the summer it stays around 80-81 (lights)
winter about 78 (heater)

now that i have a SW tank in the basemene though well have to see how that pans out..

My tanks never move off 79 - 80 degrees. They are in my basement and the heaters turn on a few times a day whether it is summer or winter.

76 at the lowest, 80 at the highest. With living in Wisconsin, it all depends on whats going on outside lol. for the last 3 years however, I've never needed a heater so we'll see if it stays that way this years winter!!

Always 80 to 85 in the summer.

anything above 80 is getting a bit high. to much so for coral, which may lead to bleaching, etc....... Fish can handle high temps better but still wise to keep it 80 or lower.

not to mention the off-gassing

What is gassing, never heard of it? So i'm assuming corallimorphs must be hardy if i have kept them alive at 32deg/c? If i set my max tank temp allowance to 86 deg/
F would all corals be ok in that for 2-3 mths/year? Have read about someone keeping their reef max 85 in summer but i don't know if they had any probs.
