Tems growth rate???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was wondering if Temensis is the "regular lfs peacock bass" Cause i just bought a baby peacock bass and have it in my 55 right now. The people at the pet store didn't specify what exact kind. I was planning on getting a 180 gal. to put it in later with my oscar but the guy up a little ways in this thread mentioned that the peacock bass will outgrow the 180 gal in 1.5 years! Is this true if I only have one? I don't know if you can tell if mine is a Temensis from the juvenile picture which is my avatar....

cant tell at small size but when they get some size on them post pics up and there are alot of c.r.e.a.m. members on here that will be more than happy to id it for you. if it is a tems just ship it to me and order one from rapps thats not a tems.

period point blank active fish need enough room to be active. just because it can turn around in the tank by folding itself in half doesnt mean that it should have to.

folding itself in half????? what are you talking about??

a fish that is moving forward would not be at the very back of the tank, it is moving forward. just because it fits front to back in the tank (even though it wont do that) doesnt mean that it can comfortably turn around in that room. a 28-34" fish would have to basically fold itself in half to turn around in a 24" tank.

I have a 12" RTC in my 180 right now that bends his body when he turns around, that doesn't mean the tank is too small for him, it's just how fish turn around. I definetly wouldn't keep a 28-34" fish in there. I said when he gets to 2 foot
