TENECOR OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey thanks mike!! almost looks the same but a few more custom work. quality im sure is a lot better than the tenecor tank!

titan guys are former tenecor employees. only a few of the head guys left and started their own company, titan aquatic, because of the downfall of tenecor. they didnt see it being fit to work for a company that is doing downhill and who has little respect for those people that paid the money for quality tanks/service. they are just a few guys who are passionate about making their clients happy so they left tenecor way before tenecor annouced that they are out of business.

here is my story and why i decided to go with titan. one of head guys, who was overlooking my project left tenecor about a month before my tank arrived. before that, i had great communication with him. i was actually in full communication with him even after he left tenecor, where as the guys who were working on my tank and still employed at tenecor gave me 0 communicaiton. at this point in the time, he would give me advice on how to get my tank quicker and what to do regarding shipping. i had no intention to buy from titan but he helped me out fully. after my tank arrived and it came in DOA, i emailed a few manufacturers about a new tank and since titan has been very helpful to begin with, going above and beyond, i decided to order through them!!!

Here is a link to my TITAN AQUTIC tank build. You can see the amount of precision work they put into my tank. Looks like a tenecor tank but 100% better in terms of quality control!!!

Here is Titans exact email to me:

Michael,

Obviously, you know the story better than anyone out there because of our communications over the last month.

We can't hide from the fact we used to work for Tenecor. But as you know, we have had no contact with the ownership for months prior to their closing. The three of us decided we wanted to start a small company on our own and do things the right way. Our business connections, personal relationships and technical knowledge allowed us to get up and running very quickly. But we are who we are at this point. Three former employees who worked for a business that was not succeeding and decided to go out on our own and give it a shot at starting our own company. The three of us, know better than anyone how our former employer conducted their affairs and that is the main reason we left. We knew their was a better way to build aquariums, treat clients and run a business.

Like many of the other aquarium builders in this business, we are just a small company, who loves what they do and are trying to carve out a piece of the market. We knew many people would associate our company with Tenecor, our competition would use it as a selling tool against us and some people would choose not to buy from us, because of where we came from. But these are just some of the things a new small business needs to overcome and we welcome the challenge. Everyone came from somewhere else at some point.

The companies around the country who have directed their business our way over the last few months have been supportive in our endeavour because they know we want to be better then where we came from. Our past relationships may have gotten our foot in the door, but like any other company, we heard, we will give you shot to build one and see how you do. And on Tuesday, when your tank arrives, you be the judge and see how we did for you.

My partners and I are caught up in the closing of Tenecor like everyone else out there. It actually would have been to our benefit if they stayed in business longer to give us more time to disassociate ourselves from them. When you called me and asked for help, you knew I had left Tenecor but had no idea that my partners and I had started a business. I had to earn your trust, like any other company would have after your dealings with Tenecor. If anything, Titan was at a bigger disadvantage then the other builders you had to choose from with your new aquarium. We won your business from our competition, because we were willing to go above and beyond what anyone else would do with our service.

At the end of the day, we are just like many of the people on this thread who will choose to post their comments. The three of us sat at our desks and thought to ourselves there is a better way of doing this. We knew the ramifications of our choice to open a new business, who we would be associated with and what would be said. But we went for it, because we knew we could do it better then anyone else out there and we will have many years and opportunities to prove that our decision right over the years to come.

thank you for posting the above link to my TITAN AQUATIC build thread. at least this story ended happily with myself finally owning my dream tank!

i hope you guys choose TITAN AQUTATIC for your next premium tank purchase. read the above thread. im sure you will feel comfortable in choosing TITAN as your next custom acrylic tank manufacturer!

skip to page 8 for final pictures of my build! enjoy!!!

lol fishtankdirect is gone too. i wonder if titan can make a 12 long x 4 wide x 3 high acrylic monster.

When did they go out of business? They still have a website.
http://www.fishtanksdirect.com/

They do not make tanks, but sell tanks made by different tank manufacturers. I purchased a tank through them 3 years ago -- 15' x 4' x 4' made by Sun Coast Aquariums in Florida.

It seems that now, all of the sudden, fishtankdirect.com redirects its clients from tenecor to titan so you never know ...I hope not.

fish tank direct is still operational as far as im concerned. right now i do believe they are dealing with TITAN AQUATIC as well.

why not email titan directly and ask for a quotation? going direct will bypass 3rd party fees. thats what i did and the end result exceeded my expectation.
