Today I noticed that my 3" ornate and 4" Endli x Ansorgii have their tails shredded. They share a tank with my 5" Teugelsi and I'm pretty sure he's the culprit since he's very territorial of his little corner with the plants. Now I need to figure out what to do about it. He's big enough to move in with my larger polys, but I really don't want to see them all get shredded too. Do you guys think he might stop if I move him? I'm thinking that maybe the move itself will humble him, and also he'll be the smallest in that tank. Any chance this move would solve the problem? Or am I just going to see my bigger guys get shredded? This poly is really really timid so I don't get to see much of him, so if I had to give away a poly I guess I'd be happiest if he was the one

Ive read stories on here about jerk polys being put in their place by other more dominant polys. You might try him in the big boy tank.

Also good suggestion to move decor.

Yeah it makes sense that the "big boy tank" (LOL) would teach him a lesson, but that tank has 8 polys in it and they live in perfect harmony! no squabbling whatsoever, I'm wary of upsetting that balance, and I also don't know if the bigger guys are aggressive enough to keep this little jerk in line.

I think I'm gonna rearrange first, and see if that helps. I may end up getting rid of him though, I really hate having any aggression in my tanks.

I had a jerk albino rainbow shark that was a complete jerk harassing everything in his tank so I put him in with my polys which all 3 were about 6" he tried to mess with the ornate and the ornate lunged at him after that 1 time the rainbow shark was a perfect gentleman to everyone around him so it may just be the bichir just needs to be put in his place

He likely won't even try to mess with the bigger polys. Most polys submit to a larger one without any need of aggression.
Ok thanks. Think I'm just gonna move him over and hopefully he stops.

Yeah rainbow sharks are a$#holes. A friend gave me one a while ago and it beat up everything in my tank, so I gave it away after like 2 weeks.

my thought was if he gets killed screw him but then he changed when he realized he would be dead if he didn't

The decor changing never worked for me with polys and cichlids. I think moving him will do the trick. Sort kf the same issue with my ornate, he abuses small polys but is ok with the larger ones
