Yeah moving him would accomplish that too. My larger poly tank has 8 but his current tank has 3. Gonna move him over tonight
Moved him over a few hours ago. Hopefully in the morning I don't have a bunch of ragged polys. If so, he's a goner!
I think I may have wrongly accused the teug! Just checked out my hybrid's tail and i'm pretty sure it's worse than it was last night... Also the teug hasn't been hiding as much in his new tank, and now that I can see him I noticed a bit of damage on his tail too... It my be my chocolate cichlid, but I just didn't expect that because the whole reason I got him was because I had a dozen people tell me they're completely peaceful except with their own kind. Also, the damage all happens at night and the chocolate isn't nocturnal like the polys. Plus he just kinda quietly keeps to himself. Not sure what's going on anymore!
Well now that I moved the teug, it's only the 2" chocolate, 3" ornate, and 4" endli X ansorgii. I know ornates can be aggressive, but I really don't think it's him because he's so small and also has a frayed tail, and the hybrid is soooo chill, I doubt he would fight back if the ornate was nipping at him. It really only leaves the chocolate.

Glad your getting to the source. Didn't think a Teug is capable. It's just not their nature. If there are poly keepers here.
They are NOT NOCTURNAL, lol..... My polys sleep with the lights are off
I think the misconception is that fish may go missing at night. It due them resting at the bottom when lights are off at night. That's when polys become opportunistic.
