Teugelsi growout?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
People here say generally 1/2 to 1 inch per month for baby polys, and mine have followed that rule.

As for the kuhlis, it depends on the individual fish. My prior Palmas ate a few, yet my Delhezi (who was the same length, 6") did not.

ETA: my kuhlis are/were like 6 years old so they are huge for kuhlis.

mine have been growing 1-2" a month

IMG_7379.JPG IMG_7386.JPG IMG_7377.JPG IMG_7376.JPG Got some pictures! First couple are the Teugelsi or "Tug" as I've been calling him, last few are my little unknown guy. He has a nipped tail fin but I think it should grow back over time. He was in a shipment with a bunch of senegals but clearly wasn't one of them.

Maybe its just me but the unknown almost looks LJ. I'm not super familiar with them but something is very different with his head structure.

I agree, though I'm not seeing teugelsi in either fish.

Yours do appear to have more lower jaw features. Dorsal finlet count for teugelsi is usually 6-9, starting quite far back from the head whereas yours appear to have 11-12(?) starting further up. Teugelsi also have distinctly white belly in contrast to side / back coloration, smaller head structure etc.

Perhaps someone with more experience with small LJ's could chime in?

Regardless, these will be awesome. Looking forward to seeing more of them :)

Both are lap, you can tell but the middle harizontal pattern and on the fin count. Just not sure what varient since both are CB lap.

No way!!! Laps are my favorite polys. I've just never seen tiny ones like this. Anything I need to know growing them out? Was going to swap out a heater on their tank to keep it constant at 82°F. So far they're eating bloodworms and some chopped krill

Feed them cut up tilpia and sinking pellets. They'll be large enough to be in your 125g planted in no time.
