Does the red devil go to your texas or is it the other way around? Looks like the texas tube is dropping so he's feeling her. Lol. Maybe shes not ready?

The only time I've seen the texas be aggressive towards the r.d.is whe it leaves the area around the driftwood, he corrals her back to the area and kind of hovers over her

Put the divider in tonight .took about 20minutes to rearrange the tank for it because the Texas kept trying to attack my hand every time i was in his area, they have approximately 55 gallons to themselves now, their own airstone and filter for their section,

Make sure there is a smooth rock or piece of slate for the RD to lay eggs on. FYI that is a very small space to have two large aggressive fish together living in. Keep a close eye on them because if one turns aggressive on the other there will literally be no place to hide and you will have a fatality. I would consider giving them more space, and do you have space to raise fry?
Thinking about separating, the two for a few days, she seems very stressed out, could it be the devil isn't ready and the texas is? He hasn't been aggressive towards her that I've seen, but she's hanging out near the top, should I separate them?
