Where Palm Trees Grow
I just bought this Texas Cichlid last week and I put him in my 55g initially (Yeah I know very bad idea) And he was getting tore up, So I put him in my 10g (BTW hes only 1") and hes done nothing but hide the entire time and will not warm up to me, I have not been able to feed him because he wont eat, What's wrong with him? :nilly::nilly::nilly:

when i got my texas cichlid it was a1 incher to . he was with 2 firemouth and 2 convicts, 1jaguar.my tex started to on the third i use bloodworms brine. In the ten gal does have tank mates

he is freaked out from being tossed in an overcrowded tank and getting his arse kicked, your lucky the jag didnt straight up swallow him whole if he is only 1in, only advice i can give to you is to just leave lights off and let him be for awhile

oh and STOP BUYING FISH YOU HAVE NO ROOM FOR!!!

Well he is going in my 55g next month since I'm picking up my new tank next month. I'm putting my Jag and FH and possibly my GT in the 125g which leaves room for him.

yeah but those fish are already way to big for your 55g and just so you know your going to have to re-home that FH or get it a tank of its own sooner rather than later, its a very rare FH that will tolerate tankmates when it is mature

all of your larger growing cichlids need to go into the 125 and leave the 55g for the smaller growing ones since pretty much all of your larger ones would outgrow a 55 or need it to themselves, except for maybe the JD.... but i will say its good that you are getting the larger tank though your fish will thank you for it but please just remember from now on to have the tank first BEFORE you get the fish

One more thing is I put him back in the 55g to see how he would act and he acted fine until he got beat up for about an hour, then I put him in the 10g waited for about 2 days and he was still acting all stressed, Should I put a convict or two with him?

if the con is around the same size and not beating on him then yeah that might help him not be as stressed

That's what I thought because he was fine in the 55g with everyone until the FH got tired of him sitting under his driftwood...
