Texas Cichlid Problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay guys just put two con's with him that are basicly the same size and he seems happier now, So I turned all the lights off and everything and am going to wait and see how he is tomorrow.

Okay I woke up and everything is good, The Texas is of terrorizing the con's every once and awhile but that's normal, Hes still pretty skittish when I approach the tank.

Here's an Idea go get about 8 Neon Tetras, put them in the Ten with your little Tex to draw him out and give it a little confidence.. As he grows he can start snacking on them. You should also re-think your stock and long term housing. Even getting a 125 you wouln't be able to keep all those fish for ever. You might be ok with a 125 two 75's and a 55.

That's a great idea! I'm going to stock up on some new food and get some more p.h balancer at petsmart today, I'll see if I can get some tetras, Oh and basicly what you said I needed to keep all fish was my plan I just need about a year and I can get all of those tanks, I just have to do good in school to convince my rents to let me have a 125g, 2 75g's, and a 55g, Plus my 10g and 30g lol.

Well study hard and do all your homework (on time) and you never know! BTW I have first hand information that Santa makes great tanks!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK.

Lol dude I'm not 9 anymore  But My Christmas present was if I save half my money from work for the 125g my rents will pay for the other half, It's an early Christmas present too which is pretty sweet

A convict and a Juvi Carpintis are a bad idea. Most Carptentis/ Texas's are not suitable for a community setting. They are sooo timid when young. More skittish than a Dempsey even. Then when they reach about 5 or 6 inches they think they would like everything in the tank dead. Carpentis is a 1-man army kind of fish, but theres always nicer ones that would be perfect. Convicts are way to aggressive at all points to be with a young texas.

It's fine for now until I leave today to use the 8 neon tetra idea instead of using the 2 cons.

Oh and Carpintis are more of a bad *** version of a Texas, Carpintis are much more aggressive then a regular Texas. They are also nicer I would have one if I had a 75g to keep one plus they are too aggressive to keep in my aggressive community setup that is already destroying itself every time a fish grows another inch.
