I'm planning on trying to breed the Midias(Female-I think) and the Texas cichlid (Positive male) for a Red Texas Cichlid. Dose it matter that the Midias is mostly white? The Texas is currently trying to breed with my Salvini. Has anyone had this cross before TexasxSalvini? Is so let me know yall experience with that.

I believe there is a photo in one of the pinned threads of Salvini and Texas. I am sure I've seen another around.

I don't think it matters of she is piebald or not. When I've bred 2 piebald I still got a fair amount of solid colours. Maybe someone here has experience with that

The white fader parent is the higher the chance of getting fader offsprings. That’s deep huh?

Very deep ?. I'm very new to this so all information helps out alot. Thank you
Because from
Gray to orange is loss of pigments.
And going to white is a higher degree loss of pigments

This is my male Midas. In all honesty I have no idea if my 2 Midas are actually Midas they could be red devils or a midevil. They were being sold as parrot fish so I have no actuall way of knowing. The other fish is my Blue Texas cichlid. Unknown sex. I'm hoping female so I can breed the male Midas to the blue texas.

Recently I met the SB Texas cichlid X Midias cross. There are no fish with dots in the picture. On my request I received an answer that there were hybrids with dots, but in a small number.

I have a few large fish that will beable to eat all the unwanted fry. I plan on only keepong the ones with dots from my 2 hopeful pairs (MidasMxBTexasF) (TexasMxMidasF) and then to pair off those selected offspring. This is the blue cichlid in light who I believe is female. I'll be adding the male Midas today.

White is the extreme end of fading, if you want reddish fry you will not want to be using any white colored breeders. Midas x Carpintis are some ugly fish usually anyway.
Personally when breeding red tex styled fish I would select the darkest fader I can get. You don't want something fading to lighter colors as the pearls won't stand out and will usually fade themselves and not be iridescent.
I like your Carpintis. Would be a big waste breeding it to midas.

Obviously don't AAA grade, but F1 males may be fertile.
