The only reason I was asking for pics was because they have misidentified dats before. If Im going to pay $100 for a microlepis instead of a pulcher, I want to know.
agreed, no problems paying for D. Pulchers if i'm really going to get Pulchers!

i have ordered fish from them before and the fish you get is pretty good quality, but like you guys said their service sucks!!! i was asking the guy questions when he interupted me when i was talkin telling me he had another order someone was calling in and asked if i was going to put in an order or not, if not he had to go!!! they lost my respect and i will not order from them again!!!

I try to keep telling EVERYONE you MUST ask for me ( Darin ) if you want fish. Joe is waaaaay to busy to for this, it is part of my job here at Tfd to handle the internet stuff. Please ask for me and you will not have this problem. I am sorry for your troubles.
Thanks, Darin / Tfd Fish.

Then it sounds like Joe should get a new job. If good ol' Joe spoke to me that way, I'd come right down and see Joe PERSONALLY. And I live in the Cleveland area.
Hi Joe.

Hi Joe.

You would go see a fish guy because you felt insulted? Why not just buy somewhere else? My understanding is that Joe truly does some big business on the wholesale side. Dealing with individuals is a very small part of his business, and you should respect that. The option is to go buy at the petstore...plain and simple.

East Coast Zoo isn't doing business off this board anymore. If TFD goes, the options are getting limited.

I've never ordered from TFD and don't plan to (because I don't own a pet store), but what I want to know is what is their policy on shipping errors i.e. they ship the wrong type of dat? If they're good about correcting them, what's the problem?

See, their company being a wholesaler and all, I wouldn't really expect world class 'customer' service (as in the hobbyist). The middle man (your LFS) doesn't call needing all kinds of info, they know what they want to sell, they submit their order and that's it.

At the same time, I fully understand a hobbyists' precaution to get the order right, and see the quality of the stock before purchasing. The problem is, that's not appropriate when dealing with a wholesaler, no matter how you feel they should treat "paying customers" (a wholesaler could give a **** less whether they loose your one order of $200, when I bet they've got LFS's that have steady orders of $400-500 every month or every other month). Wholesalers aren't used to hobbyist mentality "I'm ordering this to put in my display tank", only the retail mentality "I'm ordering this to make a buck off it".

So, the burden of responsibility falls upon the hobbyist to be more understanding, and ask for the right guy... the guy that deals with hobbyists. If that idea offends you, well you're S-O-L.

Happy fish-hunting everyone!

And why do you feel the need to defend such moronic actions? You felt the need to post the above to make WHAT POINT?
I don't need to respect anything - individuals don't deserve that respect because they're not dealing in the almighty "high dollar"?
THAT'S what's plain and simple.
