Well if it wasn't successful you just knocked one of the first few attempts out of the way. He does look to have a bit of zz in him.

either way its good practice for them and they didn't kill each other which is good and if they were even slightly successful then ill have some cool new fish..eggs still look great as of now..

Heres a couple of pix of his condition when I un bagged him, he was tipping from side to side and laying nearly lifeless had to be held upright for a few hrs before he took over then salt, pimafix, temp raise to 85, and lights out for several days until he regained life

That's normal to some of them when they are fresh out of the bag from shipping. Just bump the temp up to make them feel much more comfortable. And make sure you have an high aeration on the tank for maximum oxygen to help him sooth. ;)

Yeah I did that but have never had a fish do that an I have lots of fish..these pic's dont even show the worst of it every time i went to take a pic it would startle him, he was at times totally on his side breathing heavily

ps he looked like that in the bag too

One thing I'm starting to give a second thought on your fish, seems like it isn't really a KML. Contains KML blood for sure, but there is more ZZ in him. Chance of fertility is still there for you...if it works out then keep us updated.

yeah there were only 3 white eggs today which I removed so we will see....Yeah many people say there is zz in there It seems rarely is a fish sold properly labeled but I guess it can be hard due to the variety out there..still like him though

maybe the un-bagging symptoms you saw were the result of an overdose of sedative? i've had similar results with africans, not fun to deal with.

that and or just the fact that he was in a bag for some time and the water was super cold, plus he was more sucked up then any fish I have seen...he is a bad a** now though hes funny too he does backflips in the water
