Thai Silk has fungus maybe?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dayyyyyyyyum!

well thank you all VERY much for all the input. I really didnt expect to have this large of a thread when i was finally able to check back.

I HAVE TAKEN PICTURES!!!!
and as i type this im emailing them to myself from my phone so i can get them up on here for everyone....i know theyre not up yet, but i have an update of the condition of my fish.

i ran out of Pimafix after my 4th or so dose. havent had a chance to get more yet, but will this week. It seemed to subdue the redness, then after a while it seemed to come back since treatment stopped. The spot that was on the tail fin seems to have turned into what looks like a blackhead pimple.

After the pics are up you'll see the redness. his anus area seems to be swelled a little bit too? or that could just be the physiology of this fish. First FH ive ever raised so im not sure...

I have not tested water parameters yet...in hawaii our water is not treated with anything, fyi. during water changes i add rock salt. that's about as much water conditioning as it gets...

time to go host the pics.

My Thai Silk is now more aggressive than ever, and has began to eat much less than it used to. Now it eats maybe 6 or so sumo pellets (the small small ones) and the rest are left for a while, so i end up taking them out. It used to each until it was full...its eating maybe 1/8th of what it used to.

sorry, my first time trying to get up pics. :)

Nice fish, they look like what my fish had, they seemed to clear up by themselves and didnt do any harm, not sure what the cause is, but it was nothing major..

thank you for the words of support.

as far as his appetite goes...i noticed he only eats the pellets that are thrust downward by the flow of his AquaClear....aka the ones that move only.

is this any cause for alarm? im pretty sure the pellets are eaten eventually...but he doesnt stay near the top and just eat like flake eating fish might (because he used to eat like that)...now hes real hit-and-run with his pellets...when they move...

should i continue treatment of pimafix?

mahalo!
