Hi there...just picked up 4 Thai silk cichlids...
They are super looking!!! I never knew they had so much blue in them at 2 inches...I always thought they were more
of a silvery silky color.....
How big do they get? How aggressive?
My problem is, which tank should I keep them in for life..
A 750gal tank with festae,Red motaguense,red devils,
and a few pikes or a 220gal tank with more mellow fish like synspilum, bocourti, and melenuras...
Any comments would be great....
One more thing..is it possible to breed these fish or are they sterile??? Thanks

They can range anywhere from 10 - 15 inches. 10 - 12 is more common. Thai silks are fertile so you can breed them.
How big is the fish in both tanks and how many?

Do u have pics?
As far as housing goes if they have enough hiding spots they might be ok in the 750 with the other aggresive fish prolly would be more fit to be in there FH are aggressive.....I would prolly grow them out just a lil till they get big enough to defend themselves then put them into the 750....love to see some pics or vids of Ur tanks

well i think thai silks are not so aggressive as other strains are as per my experience

Show us some pics. They are just like most other FHs from my experience in terms of aggressiveness.
What is the market price up in Canada btw?

Hey Ivan, I thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me when I read this thread. lol Thai Silk are like any other FH as far as size & aggression goes, depends on the individual fish. Overall they should be able to hold their own with most of your fish.

Yup...but I don't think I want to go thru all the hassle...unless u give me 150+

I believe he was speaking with pz san Diego brother.

They have small silks on their website. Shoot them an email or phone call and see if they can sort you a female. I want a few juvies to grow out :)
