During the mid-term election the gas prices SUNK just in time for the Republicans to talk about how good the economy was doing and how gas prices were going down and the minute they lost gas prices went right back up.
I know I don't have any real evidence but it does seem EXTREMELY fishy.

Does anybody think it's weird that people think that Democrats care about the poor, yet because of their actions at home our gas prices have gone up, and while this doesn't affect rich people, just lower class, President Bush gives out tax stimulus's to help out the lower income citizens, but the Republicans are believed to only care about rich people?
Please don't start pointing fingers on who's right and who's wrong or who's causing this.
I think we can all agree that there are complex mechanisms at work for the surge in oil prices, so telling me that either the Democrats or Republicans are causing this would simply be blatantly untrue and a cause for argument.
If you want to express your anger over high oil prices, you're more than free to do so. But placing the blame on any single entity would not be appropriate.

A coulpe of real problems
The biggest one.
when oil future are bought, you are expect to take delivery(unlike buying stock in a company) No one is taking delivery or has any intention of doing such. Pure speculators are jumping on the band wagon to make money. The law must change to stop this buying.
#2 china
buying oil like crazy. Constuction is booming with the olympics right around the corner, stadium, hotels, mass transit ect. Once the olympics pass, there will be less demand and the prices may drop
#3 subsidizing
there are countries that subsidize the gas. this means that people are paying a under what the current maket should be. once there counties stop this are allow the people to pay the current rate for the gas, demand will drop.
