Marvelous photo, Alan, and quite unusual. Being nocturnal, it doesn't care for the light...did you use flash
or something else?

Sorry I didn't reply before Bill - I've been away for a couple of days. It's not a flash shot - these lemurs were in a fairly dim indoor cage (with an outside enclosure that they didn't use much). I used my 60mm macro and turned the ISO up to 800 and shot at 1/15s at f/3.5. I only got away with that shutter speed by pressing my rubber lens hood against the window to steady the camera.

Alan,
Wow, I couldn't detect any noise in the pic. ISO 800, was it the D70? And you didn't have
to use Neat Image or Noise Ninja for processing......(?)

I don't have a really capable camera, but I was quite happy with this photo.

No, I just used Photoshop as usual (adjusting levels, conversion to 8-bit, cropping, resizing and some unsharp masking). This is a crop of about 1/4 of the full frame. I guess I'd have to use noise reduction if I wanted to make a decent sized print of this shot. On a monitor, I'm happy with the quality (although I think I could adjust the colours a little) but it's less important to me than the subject and my response to it.
