all the congos that are still alive are still breating super hard.. one of them will not leave the surface...
i hooked an airpump up to the powerhead in my shrimp tank where i moved the L239 to... he had been hangin out acting almost normal for a while.. still breating really really hard and still had his fins flared... now hes zipping around the tank with his fins up and still breathing super hard..... great... im glad theres sand in that tunk cuz if it was gravel he would tear himself apart... i turned off the lights in there.. hopefully that will calm him down a bit... im wondering if the baby shrimp are landing on him and freaking him out.... i want to put him in his own Qtub but i dont have any water to fill it with..

Hey Chester when was the last time before this catastrophe that you checked the tap water? Do you regularly/frequently check it? I think we should find out if the levels are still climbing or did they already plateau?

Hey bring over some jugs- well take 20 or 30 from 1 of my tanks I changed the water like a day ago.

:(that is crazy!!! just think you drink that ****.

i dont drink it... im one of those people that never drinks water.. beer, soda and juice only... however my gf drinks a ton of it... and the fridge filters it... shes been chained to the bathroom all day.. and after more research is a known side effect on humans.... neat....

oh well.. heres some pics of dead fish...

DSC03844.jpg

the otos insides exploded or something.. even when i picked it up by the tail it stayed like that... poor lil bugger

DSC03845.jpg

the first 2 congos to die... im so ticked they were so good looking

DSC03849.jpg

and the best looking congo... very mad about losing him

one male and the only female (there use to be another but she got eggbound a few weeks ago) are still swiming around looking slightly washed out.. one of the two males has been hanging out behind the overflow for a long time now but hes just hangin out so its cool.. the other male is spending half the time with his nose on the surface half the time swiming very slowly.... all of them are still breathing very hard and not moving much...
the lone swordtail is also being very sluggish.. he thinks hes a congo though so he might just be acting...
the 8? remaining otos are also being very sluggish.. just sorta sitting on plants not doing much...
the corys however are getting much more active.. they are hiding in the plants a lot more than normal and are only zipping around at half speed.. but atleast they are moving around now...

DSC03851.jpg

the L239 has finally slowed down a bit.. hes still breathing hard but not as hard as he was before... hes also nolonger buzzing around the tank.. i think he wore himself out...

ugh... i really want to do a waterchange for my greenspot puffer.. his normal waterchange day is sunday... he knows this very well.. hes not happy with all the diatoms on his tank.. :irked:

we usuially check it once a month or so.. however we didnt check it lastmonth with the holidays and all that... usuially i can smell/feel that something is not right when i shower.. but well... its the weekend :naughty:

i pulled some water out of that tank in the backyard, heated it and used that to top off the 75.. its down to a low roar which i can deal with... jenns got a RO system at her work so if we need to ill snag some water from there... unless somehow that turns into its own issue in which case ill be knockin on yer door tomorrow... i just went and looked at the puffer... hes friggin ticked... he was all white when i walked up the tank... then i walked away... hes now pacing the front of the tank all grayed out... i think i can hear him swearing at me..

You dont know the puffer was swearing, as a matter of fact Im not so sure it was even english that it was speaking. My guess is some african jibberish- did you notice any clicks or like a clucking sound when it was "swearing" at you? If so it was probably africaspeak like I said. Let me know if you want some water- wnenever you need it

hahaha good to know bro.. thanks..

I cant beleive I didnt think of it earlier, I guess my advanced age is catching up to me, but about 2 weeks ago I had a wipeout too. The tropicals in the pond- my 5 plecos 8"- 14", 8" leporinus, 12" RTGG, a pair of 2"white, and a pair of 2" striped convicts all bit the big one. On one of those really cold nights we had a few weeks ago- I put together a quick indoor pond (about 50 gallons) because I didnt want to overload the tanks when I brought them in. I put about 20 gallons from the big tank and 10 from the 50 and the difference in primed tap. I had 2 powerhead type filters going, but it was too crowded. I had certainly seen far worse. I was wrong to think that they would be fine for the 6 hours I slept til morning.
