Saw the update - awesome barbs ^^

Don't be, bro. Just get them. Common you are in KL and i found these in Thai border town. Though i suspect someone breeds them there.

Their colors are better than my last one - got them on very early on...<sigh> ... very far from my neighbor's size :irked:

Moving silver aros next time ^^ what about you TL, moving your silvers yet? after you do that you can put in baby paimas with jar and green. Where is the update?
well considering i go home on the 17th (ONLY 8 days away) so i will immediately hit the fishshop!!!! and yehhh my dad called me and told me that my silvers are apparently wayyy too big for that 7 foot tank already and that i will have to move them into the pond. I need to properly check out their size tho cuz i dont wana move them too early!!!! dont forget my RTCs r even bigger than ures so im quite scared LOL. im actually more scared of my pacus! they r very aggressive and attacked my gars a lot wen i first put them in. we'll see how it goes man.

But yeh...IFFF my silvers r large enuf for the pond then i shall buy 3 pimas to keep with my green and jar.

I woulda expected your silvers to have outgrown your 7'. mine have already that's why i got the 8' - the only reason that i have not moved them yet is to let paimas to settle in first. My jar is wayyy toooo bulky now - still a wimp (hopefully stays that way). I am not sure i would ever be comfortable of moving my silvers with RTCs.... too foldable + i got a particularly murderous kitty (he has many victims to his name: arapaima, O, silver aro ... not sure who killed off all of my red pacus) .... 8' should last for a while more.

Goooooo paimas TL!!! those are the monsters that would go really well with your pond ^^ Good luck with getting them

PS: GL for your exams but i guess you don't need that ^^
PS1: got a black aro coming in this weekend :D:D:D

yeh pls show me updated pics of ure silvers! they must be huge! mine started growing very fast once i started feeding them LARGE hikari spirulina pellets. its like wat spinach does to popeye. i cant wait to see mine :)

WOW ure getting a black..they r meant to be very rare and expensive...but i dont think it will reach ure outdoor pond for a very long time. they grow slower than silvers and max size is smaller yeh.

Here is the unscrubbed view of my tank - i dread the idea of moving them. Stringray in particular (hmmm perhaps i will leave him inside for awhile longer).

Black aro is not as expensive as you may think. On par with HBRTG i would say. I don't plan on moving black into my outdoor set-up :grinno: only paimas will graduate to RTC tank - and even then it would be a nail biting experience like last time. First few hours are crucial as RTC would be checking them for signs of weakness.

Nice pimas. Love those fire red markings on them.

Thanx, Koji. I thought i would not be getting into paimas anytime soon after losing my 3 beast last winter, but when i checked out my regular LFS in Thailand, i immediately put deposit on all four "red rose" paimas - luckily they did not have more otherwise i woulda got the rest too :nilly:

Gonna let them rest in 8' until next summer (plenty sufficient space) then i will move them into RTC set-up ... though i am still debating with myself whether to roll the dice again and put no heater (and acclimatize them by trial of fire like my neighbor's monster paimas) or put in the heater (and swallow the electric bill for quarter of the year). Lucky for Singapore and Malaysia you don't have to heat your set-ups, ey.

WOW ure arows have grown even more!!! pretty crazy bro but looks AWESOME! i just dont see ure RTCs eating those silvers tho.

My silver was much smaller than them wen i first put it inside the pond. i duno if i was just lucky or wateva but he did fine.

I mean as long as ure RTCs are well fed it shud really work out cuz ure arows are not just long...they are also fat and tall! good job man! hopefully mine will be of a similar sizeee wen i get back next week!!!
